A new Baby Group in Canterbury

Bluebells Baby Group offers babies and parents/carers a peaceful and beautiful space to spend time together.

The focus of the group is on babies’ self-directed movement and play, as well as providing an opportunity for parents to relax with a cup of tea and discuss different aspects of child development.

We are incredibly lucky at New School, Canterbury to have Sam Greshoff as one of our Early Years Teachers.

Sam is a trained Steiner Kindergarten Teacher who has worked with young children and their parents for more than 15 years in both Kindergartens and Toddler Groups. She has also been involved in running workshops and training courses for Parent and Toddler Group Leaders and is currently working with the Steiner Waldorf Schools Fellowship.

Her interest in the development of children and the importance of self-directed movement led her to the work of Emmi Pikler and she completed the first Pikler Training course to take place in the UK in 2014.

This has had a great influence on her work and has led her to set up this Pikler-inspired Parent and Baby group.

She hopes to bring an understanding of the Pikler approach to parents to enable them to gain a deeper understanding of their child's development.

These approaches value the individuality of each child and our intention is to provide a supportive environment for a gentle and unhurried start to a child’s life. This group is suitable for parents and babies from birth to walking.
